Normand Energy replaces Normand Ocean – a larger, high-capability vessel for complex offshore projects
Solstad Maritime ASA and Prysmian: Solstad Maritime ASA and Prysmian Group have maintained a partnership to deliver offshore solutions for many years. This collaboration reflects shared values of trust, reliability, and a commitment to enabling the energy transition.
Originally planned for Normand Ocean, the Prysmian contract will now be executed by Normand Energy, a vessel that offers even greater capacity and advanced features. This strategic change ensures Prysmian benefits from one of the most capable Construction Support Vessels (CSV) in the Solstad fleet.
Normand Energy is designed for demanding subsea operations and stands out for its size and capability. Key features include:
- 250-ton active heave compensated crane
- DP3 dynamic positioning system
- Large cargo deck for complex project logistics
These specifications make Normand Energy a perfect fit for Prysmian’s offshore cable installation and maintenance projects worldwide.
