Celebrating 10 years with no LTI’s

This November Normand Pacific reached the impressive milestone of 10 years continuous operation with no LTIs recorded onboard. The vessel’s excellent track record is a testament to the crew’s competence, high focus on safety standards, good routines and processes to support everyone in all tasks.

Operating a vessel like Normand Pacific for a decade without any LTIs or other serious incidents is a great achievement. The damage potential is high for many tasks onboard. Risk is assessed and managed every day to always ensure the safety of the crewmembers, the ship as well as the environment. The crewmembers have embraced the philosophy of Solstad Incident Free Operations, believing that all incidents, whatever the nature and cause, are preventable.

The captains, Dagfinn and Jan Magne wants to highlight the importance of not becoming complacent but keep up the safety focus going on forward. As Captain Dagfinn says, “We can’t just sit down and be satisfied with what we have achieved. We should recognize what we’re doing right, be proud of it and constantly work to further improve our safety culture onboard.

A key factor to the success on Normand Pacific is without doubt the good working environment onboard. As Captain Dagfinn continues to say, “We always treat our colleagues with respect and care for each other”. The vessel has been known as a happy ship among both crewmembers and customers since she entered service in 2010. Thank you to all of the crewmembers that have worked onboard the Normand Pacific during the 10 years of operation and those that continue to work onboard.
